Initially, I thought my existing SwitchBot Video Doorbell would act as a hub. However, it turned out that a separate SwitchBot Hub was required for the waterproof thermo-hygrometer to connect to my smartphone. Please note that the video doorbell does not function as a hub.
Ultimately, I solved the issue by purchasing a SwitchBot Hub 2 separately. Please be sure to check the compatible hubs in the SwitchBot app before making a purchase.

Instantly Detect Water Temperature Anomalies with SwitchBot App Alert Settings
One of the great features of the SwitchBot Waterproof Thermo-Hygrometer is its temperature alert function. You can freely set upper and lower temperature limits in the app. When the temperature goes outside the set range, the thermometer icon in the app turns red.
Note: The alert setting alone does NOT send push notifications to your smartphone. To receive push notifications, you need to separately configure an Automation in the SwitchBot app (e.g., “If water temperature exceeds 32°C, send a push notification”). Please verify the latest specifications yourself.
