Today, I set up a new 40cm aquarium. This tank is not for breeding purposes, but rather for stocking. It will be the new home for an L236 (Super White Pleco) and four offspring born from a cross between the Fin First Ace lineage and the Second Ace lineage.

Most of the equipment was put together from spare parts
I used a Marina L aquarium. For the filters, I combined two types from my existing spare equipment.
- Kotobuki Profit Filter Big (Hang-on-back filter)
- Tetra Twin Brilliant Super Filter (Sponge filter)
The combination of a hang-on-back filter and a sponge filter is simple, but the sponge filter provides a home for beneficial bacteria, offering a sense of security in terms of biological filtration. I believe this is a sufficient setup for a stock tank.

The only things I purchased this time were a heater and a SwitchBot Waterproof Thermo-Hygrometer
I was able to set up the equipment using spare parts, but since I didn’t have a heater on hand, I purchased a new one. It’s the GEX Safe Cover Replacement Heater 120W (for tanks up to 40L). This is just the right size for a 40cm tank.

Another item I purchased is the SwitchBot Waterproof Thermometer and Hygrometer. I buy more of these every time I add a new tank. It has become an essential item for my tanks, and the peace of mind of being able to check the water temperature in real-time from my smartphone is something I can no longer do without.

The Residents: L236 and the offspring of Fin First Ace × Second Ace

Placed in this tank are an L236 (Super White Pleco) and the offspring born from the lineage of Fin First Ace × Second Ace. A total of 4 fish.
This setup is not intended for breeding, but rather for stocking purposes. I want to keep the individuals in good condition and be able to move them to other tanks as needed. The L236 seems to have settled into its shelter, and there appear to be no problems so far.
Tomorrow, I plan to set up a tank for a pair of Imperial Plecos
Today, the stock tank became operational, but tomorrow, I plan to set up one more tank specifically for a pair of Imperial Zebra Plecos. I’m thinking I’d like to create a dedicated environment for the pair to calmly settle down. Once it’s set up, I’ll write another article about it.
